I love this restuarant.....I have no complaints. I do want to make an update...Teen Nights have been changed til further notice...There is a Teen Open Mike for 14-17 year olds. $5 Entry Fee with $2 those between the age of 14 & 17 that sign up to participate.

Some people don't know good food and a fun environment.Mama's is the best.I love Thurs. night open mic....great food....and lots of folks to hang out with....Mama is authentic...the place is clean...Maybe if folks enjoyed themselves more instead of being critics they would have seen that its a beautiful place to embrace culture!Come out and enjoy.......Also bring the kids too. Sat Night April 18th Kick Starts the first of many Teen Nights $5 female $10 males plus free food.Come on out!

As a Jamaican I was shockingly disgusted with Mama's Caribbean Grill, the plastic table cloths were disgusting to look at yet alone to eat on, the decor needed a LOT of work the inside dark and dingy, the dress code of the one person (don't know what to call her) needed to be cleaned she was really dirty sneakers was bad to look at the cook came out to greet me and my party PLEASE!!! I don't even want to go there about her apperance, the floors needed to be washed. The exterior was a total turnoff. I honestly do not know what the health department is doing bbut I don't think they are doing a good job. The food----- what can I say we were astonished I did not know what the meat was although I ordered Ox-Tail and red beans and rice the plantain was cooked into dirty oil I could taste the bad burned taste of the oil. We spent $38.00 for food that we did not eat we tasted then left I feel sad for those that don't really know what to expect when having well prepared jamaican food in a nice clean invoriement. Mama you need to get your act together get a good cook better yet get your self a chef that know what they are doing in the kitchen you cannot serve food the way you cook at home JUST DISGUSTING, is there even a rest room in that place ? the experience was sad, dissappointing, and made me angry, how are you in business someone should call KITCHEN NIGHTMARES and pay Gordon Ramsy to clean your place and teach you how.

This unpretentious hole-in-the-wall located in artsy plaza midwood serves up delicious jerk chicken and sides at affordable prices. I left thouroughly pleased and very full.
I actually attended the restuarant per word of mouth. I went, ordered, sat afterwards, and was thouroughly pleased. Im trying to cut out my starches so I ordered the jerk chicken with cabbage and greens. I eat everything! (and believe me i mean EVERYTHING). I then had an unexpected suprise at Mama's' that served as icing onthe cake.....apparently they have open mike there every Thursday evening. So after eating and enjoying about two pineapple sodas after that, I had the luxury of hearing some spoken word, live music, reggae, and some lovely neo soul singers. So...I now have a new hang out spot! :) If you would like to check it out: Every Thursday night- Doors open 8pm- $5 cover- no cover if you perform!
